“K-POP”: la nueva colaboración musical entre Travis Scott, Bad Bunny y The Weeknd

Una inesperada colaboración entre el trapero estadounidense Travis Scott, el rapero puertorriqueño Bad Bunny y el cantante canadiense The Weeknd ha dado vida a “K-POP”, un nuevo single que apuesta por fusionar los diferentes estilos musicales de los tres artistas.

El lanzamiento oficial del tema tuvo lugar el 20 de julio a través de las plataformas digitales, mientras que el videoclip se presentó tan solo al día siguiente, el cual fue dirigido por el mismo Scott y cuenta con las apariciones especiales de Pharrell, SZA y Matthew M. Williams.

A través de una enigmática letra, el trío de intérpretes explora una relación pasada, la cual estuvo marcada por las fiestas y los excesos. El primer verso es presentado por Travis Scott, quien admite que todavía piensa en esa persona desde la última vez que estuvieron juntos.

Por su parte, el término de “K-POP”, que le da el título a la canción, hace referencia a la abreviación del concepto paletas de ketamina (denominadas en inglés como ketamine lollipop), que a su vez alude a un tipo de droga con efectos alucinógenos.

En uno de los versos, The Weeknd menciona: “Sabes que estoy drogado con ese K-pop”. Es así como la portada de este nuevo sencillo no podía ser más sencilla y sugerente: un chupetín de color rojo sobre un fondo blanco.

La pieza musical llega como un adelanto de Utopía, el cuarto álbum de estudio de Travis Scott, que tiene previsto estrenarse a finales de este mes, específicamente el 28 de julio, y se convertirá en el sucesor de Astroworld, que vio la luz en agosto de 2018.
