Are you planning to visit Machu Picchu? We have good news for you! The Ministry of Culture of Peru presented tuboleto.cultura.pe, the new virtual platform to buy entrance tickets to various tourist attractions in the country, including the Inca Citadel.
Through this website, you can purchase your tickets for the different circuits available in the Historic Sanctuary from anywhere in the world, quickly and easily. So, don’t wait any longer and get ready for an unforgettable experience in Cusco!
How to buy tickets for Machu Picchu?
1.- Go to tuboleto.cultura.pe
To easily access the website, simply click on this link. Once there, you can choose the archaeological site you want to attend, in this case, Machu Picchu. By clicking on this option, you will be redirected to the purchase page.
2.- Log in to Joinnus
To purchase your tickets, it is necessary to be registered on Joinnus. If you are not yet registered, follow these steps. If you already have an account, then log in with your email and password.
3.- Choose options according to your visit
- Rate: choose between Promotional Rate (peruvian vistors and member countries of The Andean Community), General Rate (foreign vistors), and Ticket for Cusqueños (only people born in Cusco), as appropiate.
- Route: choose between Llaqta de Machu Picchu (Circuit 1 or 2), Circuit 4 + Waynapicchu Mountain, Machu Picchu Mountain + Circuit 3, Circuit 4 + Huchuypicchu Mountain, and Circuit 1 or 2 + Inca Bridge.
- Date: indicate the date you plan to visit Machu Picchu.
- Time: select the time slot you wish to attend.
4.- Select your tickets
In this section, you can choose the type of ticket and how many you want to purchase. There are three options available:
- Adult (18 years and older)
- Student (Undergraduate – Up to 25 years old with valid student ID)
- Minors (3 to 17 years old)
Please note that you can only select a maximum of 5 tickets per reservation. Children under 3 years old do not pay, as long as they present a valid identification document, such as DNI or passport, proving their age.
Once you have selected the number of tickets you want, press the “Buy tickets” button.
5.- Complete visitor’s data
You need to provide the full names and surnames of each visitor, along with their date of birth, country of origin, identification document, and gender. Make sure the information provided matches the details on the DNI, passport, or foreigner’s card.
Then tap the “Validate” button. If you receive the “Validated” message, then you can click on “Continue”.
A window will appear on the screen where you will have check that all the data entered is correct. If there are any errors, you can modify them before continuing.
After confirming, a new window will appear where you must check a box to confirm that you are providing true and accurate information. Finally, click on “Confirm and continue”.
6.- Choose your payment method
First, you must check the corresponding boxes to indicate that you accept the terms and conditions. Then, select one of the available payment methods: Payment via BCP (mobile app, agents and authorized agencies), Payment with debit and credit cards (via Izipay) and Payment in person at DDC Cusco (cash and Visa cards).
If you chose card payment, a pop-up window will appear where you must enter your card details, including number, expiration date, CVV and cardholder’s name. Once you have provided all the required information, click on “Pay S/”.
If you chose in-person payment at the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de Cusco (DDC), you will be provided with a reservation code that you must save. This will allow you to pay for your tickets with cash or Visa cards.
7.- Done! Enjoy your visit to Machu Picchu
You will receive the confirmation of your purchase in the email associated with your account. To see your tickets, simply log in to your Joinnus profile and go to the “My tickets” section. Don’t forget to bring them with you in printed or digital form on the day of your visit.
